In order to further regulate foreign documents for a student visa, Zhenjiang Exit and entry Bureau enacts new regulations on visa/residence permit application for foreign students, according to the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People’s Republic of China and Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Administration of the Entry and Exit of Foreigners. On the basis of these new regulations, Jiangsu University updated the visa application requirements for Foreign students:
1、From May 16, 2018, the copy of JW201/202 form and the application materials for visa documents shall not have any marks or corrections, otherwise the application will be rejected.
2、From May 16, 2018, the official letter for visa application must be signed by the authorized officials from the university.
3、The timings for processing residence permit for foreign students by Zhenjiang Exit and Entry Bureau: Monday to Friday (not including the national holidays) 9:00 to 11:30 AM, 2:00 to 5:30 PM.
4、Students need to go to “Jiangsu University One Stop Service Center” one month in advance to apply for the visa documents (Tuesday and Thursday only) . If student apply on Tuesdays, need to go to “Jiangsu University One Stop Service Center” to collect the official letter on Thursday (after 2 days). If student apply on Thursday, need to go to the “Jiangsu University One Stop Service Center” to get the official letter on next Tuesday (after 5 days). Students must apply for a visa extension at Zhenjiang Exit and Entry Bureau at least 5 days before visa expiry. Zhenjiang Exit and Entry Bureau will reject all applications submitted less than 5 days ahead of visa expiry. Students who fail to apply visa documents according to above requirements will be rejected by Zhenjiang Exit and Entry Bureau. Any illegally residing in China will be punished according to law by the Public Security Authorities.
5、New residence permit must be collected by students in-person with the original collection receipt at Zhenjiang Exit and Entry Bureau.
6、If students need to enter or leave China for personal reasons must apply for temporary residence registration after each entry; if students need to change passport or the type of visa, the temporary residence registration must be done again.
7、According to Article 23 of the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People’s Republic of China, the public security authority reserves the right to refuse the visa application for foreigners. So please take note that students applying for visa/residence permit extension must prepare the documents that are complete and meet the requirements. If students refuse to cooperate and cause trouble while applying for residence permit, their visa/residence permit application will be rejected and they will be punished according to law by Zhenjiang Exit and Entry Bureau.
